Introduction

Works created for the exhibition:
Karine Fauchard - painting, lacquer on canvas, 130x130 cm
Lazar Lyutakov - installation, two trowsers, two shirts, two pair of shoes, two mannequins, tape drawings, color pencil on laser print

For the exhibition in "Ryllega" Karine Fauchard and Lazar Lyutakov have developed new works, inspired by the specificity of the Vietnamese life style and Lazar Lyutakov is using the very widespread cloths- or shoes copy workshops for the production of his installation.

For making a copy the tailors examine originals and try to come as close as possible from the original, through the unavoidable inexactness and differences the copy is becoming the character of an individual interpretation with sculptural impact, another kind of quality offering multiple readings. This object and performance orientated -work is referring to a social problematic, but also questioning the definition of notions like originality, authenticity, value, and ironically speculating with the vain wish to be well dressed for the own exhibition opening.

The origin of the presented drawings comes from footage found on the internet. They are masked with pencil layers to fake a quality of a master-hand.

With straight decisions, actions, parameters of coloring matter and painting material, Karine Fauchard is re- interpretating in a minimal way her environmental motifs. Her works are building a crossover between mathematic and poetry, painting and sculpture.
