Artist's Statement:
In Tuyen Quang, the town where I was born and grew up, July is when the water of the Lo River would rise and sink everything under it for three to five days. After that, everything would be covered with a layer of alluvial soil, especially on the earth, the shapes of things would seem to be distorted under the soil.
I would usually like to name different objects accordingly to my own imagination. Maybe the hat would be the basket, the bottle would be the stick, the dipper might look like a grapefruit or a bowl, the bicycle wheel might be the mouth of a well or a sewer.
It was that vague guessing that helped me meet the “tinh, vat” statue of this show.
