Artist's Statement:

I see the sewing needles moving up and down on cloth - a long and hard process to make up clothes

This reminds me of a school of fish

And the threads are fish's lives;

The clothes give meaning to the fish's lives

So, if we think of needles as fish and the thread as a fish's life, you will see in my exhibition three pieces of work:

"Upstream" - With the call from existence, heards of fish go upstream, up to the source, year after year!

"Fish bites" - Fish can use only their mouths to hunt for food: "Lips as bait". When we add a grave accent to the word 'lips' (môi) in Vietnamese, it becomes 'bait' (mồi).

"Fish on the chopping board" - Fish can be caught and if caught, their chance of escape is so minimal.
